(Huntsville, AL, March 20, 2021) — Two people died in a collision on Highway 53 just north of Huntsville on Saturday morning.
Around 1:30 AM, Alabama state troopers received reports of a two-vehicle crash near Jeff Road. When they arrived at the scene, troopers found a 1999 Toyota Camry and a 2003 Toyota 4Runner.
Authorities pronounced two individuals—George Joseph Aceto III and Amy Marie Kennemer—dead at the scene. Both Aceto and Kennemer were from the Huntsville area.
According to the police report, Aceto’s Camry crossed over the highway’s center-line and in front of oncoming traffic. Kennemer was traveling in the opposite direction in her 4Runner. Neither vehicle could react before they collided.
Troopers report that the investigation is ongoing.
