Two Killed in Fultondale, AL Car Wreck

(Birmingham, AL, October 5, 2021) — Tragically, at 8 AM on October 5, 2021, two drivers in Fultondale were killed in a fatal car accident.  Driver Chelsea Symone Holmes of Birmingham, age 29, died at the scene of the accident. The other driver, 77-year-old Jo Ann D. Startley of Blountsville, passed away shortly after arriving at UAB Hospital.  The head-on collision occurred at the intersection of Carson Road and Indian Valley Road in Fultondale. Authorities say that Holmes’ Toyota Camry struck Startley’s Chevy Tahoe. Both vehicles carried passengers. Despite the severity of the accident, both passengers initially appear to have survived the accident. An adult passenger riding in Startley’s vehicle was also transported to UAB Hospital. Holmes’ child, a four-year-old, was taken to Children’s Hospital of Alabama, with non-threatening injuries.   The cause of the Fultondale fatal accident is still under investigation.   Sources: CBS 42

70-Year-Old Eastaboga, AL Woman Killed in Car Accident

(Talladega County, AL, October 4, 2021) — A 70-year-old woman died in an accident involving two vehicles on Monday afternoon. According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the accident happened at around 12:18 PM.  Linda Pinkston, 70, was driving on Priebes Mill Road in her 2015 Toyota Camry. She then crashed head-on with a 2012 Dodge Avenger driven by 40-year-old Timothy Harwell of Eastaboga. First responders pronounced her dead at the scene of the crash. Woman Struck by Oncoming Vehicle in Albertville Dog Rescue

(Albertville, AL, October 4, 2021) — A woman died when she was trying to rescue a stray dog and was hit by a car on Monday. The Albertville Police Department shared that the woman, Christina Nicole Green, was a passenger in a northbound vehicle on Highway 431. Around 8:00 PM, Green saw a stray dog in the road. After her vehicle stopped, she got out to attempt to help the dog reach the side of the road safely. Green crossed the northbound lanes successfully, but she was struck by an oncoming Chevy truck when she stepped onto the southbound lanes of the highway.  Green died at the scene of the crash. She was 31 years old.  The police reported no other injuries and continue to investigate this crash involving the woman killed in Albertville, AL dog rescue. Sources: WKRG

Local Man Dead After Crash Near Air Force Base

(Montgomery, AL, October 4, 2021) — One person died in a car crash near Maxwell Air Force Base. Police identified the deceased individual as William Ferrell, Montgomery 79-year-old.  Ferrell died in the two-vehicle crash that involved his 1998 Buick Century and a semi-truck. Ferrell drove the Buick, and his passenger sustained life-threatening injuries. The driver of the 18-wheeler was uninjured in the collision. Man Killed in Carter Hill Road Motorcycle Accident

(Montgomery, AL, September 24, 2021) — A motorcycle and a Chevy Silverado collided, leaving the motorcyclist dead. The Montgomery Police Department responded to the Carter Hill Road motorcycle crash around 5:00 PM. They found Sedrick Adams, the 32-year-old motorcyclist, severely injured. Authorities transported Adams to a local hospital. Medical staff tried to treat his life-threatening injuries, but he died at the hospital. The truck driver did not sustain injuries in the crash. The Montgomery police are investigating the motorcycle accident and have not released a crash cause yet. One Fatality in FedEx Truck Hit-and-Run on I-59 South

(Birmingham, AL, September 24, 2021) – A FedEx truck crashed into another vehicle on I-59 on Thursday afternoon and fled the scene. The police responded to reports of the crash at the Roebuck Parkway exit in Birmingham. Police found Euriticulus De Shawn Williams unconscious on the side of the road. It was later confirmed that Williams was cleaning up litter from the side of the interstate when the FedEx truck struck him. Williams was 33 years old and died due to injuries he sustained in the crash. Witnesses told police that a white FedEx truck struck Williams. Shortly after arriving at the crash scene, police received reports that the FedEx truck was still in the area. The authorities executed a traffic stop once they identified the truck, and they took the female driver into custody. She did not sustain injuries in the hit-and-run. Man Dead After Fatal Forklift Injury

(Trinity, AL, September 20, 2021) – A forklift hit a man in a steel factory on Monday, and the man died. The fatal forklift injury occurred at Nucor Decatur. The Decatur police responded to the accident. When they arrived, officers found the forklift had hit employee Don Burton. He was conscious when the authorities arrived but had sustained serious injuries in the accident. The authorities requested air transport for Burton; however, inclimate weather prohibited compliance with their request. Burton later died at Huntsville Hospital. One Killed in Montgomery, AL Car Accident

(Montgomery, AL, August 18, 2021) — A two-vehicle collision on Birmingham Highway left one man dead. Police reported the death of 84-year-old Union Springs resident Joe Caldwell in a car accident in Montgomery, AL. Around 4:30 PM, Caldwell’s Dodge Caravan collided with a Volvo near Trinity Road. The Montgomery police transported Caldwell to the hospital where he later died from his injuries. The police have not identified the Volvo driver; they did report that the driver didn’t sustain injuries in the collision. Hit and Run Near Huntsville, AL Leaves One Dead

(Madison, AL, August 19, 2021) — A vehicle struck and killed a 16-year-old pedestrian in a hit and run Madison accident. The teenager, Mason Cozelos, was crossing East Limestone Road when the vehicle hit him. Authorities declared Cozelos dead when they arrived at the crash scene around 10:30 PM.  The driver fled the scene of the crash, and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency has not identified the offender. The ALEA continues to investigate this accident in Madison as a hit and run case. Cozelos attended James Clemens High School, a local Madison school. He played lacrosse. Authorities ask any individual with information about this hit and run Madison accident to call the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office at 256-232-0111.  Madison residents also set up a GoFundMe fundraiser to help identify the person at fault in this accident.
