(Mobile, Alabama – July 24, 2024) — A 61 year old woman and 7 year old child were tragically killed in a two vehicle accident on Dauphin Island bridge.

The crash happened arouund 2 p.m. Monday on Alabama 193, about a mile north of Dauphin Island.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Mary R. Hawkins, 61, of Mobile, was fatally injured when the 2014 Lexus ES-350 she was driving collided head-on with the 2018 GMC Sierra driven by Austin L. Ross, 33, of Conway, Ark.

Logan, a 7-year-old boy and passenger of the GMC Sierra, tragically died in the crash. Mr. Ross and three other passengers in his vehicle were also seriously injured.

One passenger in the GMC Sierra, a 17-year-old named Bowen, broke his back but fortunately was not paralyzed.
