(Athens, Alabama March 4, 2022) — On March 2nd, Edgardo V Pacheco, 54, of La Vergne, Tennessee and an unidentified 18-year-old tragically died when a box truck fell off an overpass above I-65 and collided with a train.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the State Troopers received a call around 5 a.m. that a box truck driving north on I-65 fell off an overpass and onto the tracks near Roberts Road just north of Athens, Alabama. The train collided with the truck killing both Pacheco and an 18-year old.
