(Madison County, AL, Jan. 22, 2021) — A crash on January 22 killed a 79-year-old Ardmore woman.
The crash occurred around 6:15 PM at Wall Triana Highway and Pulaski Pike in Madison County. Gertrude Sloan, the deceased, was a passenger in the Honda Accord that was struck by another vehicle in the intersection.
The Honda’s driver, Joe Daniel Mitchell, also sustained injuries in the crash. Authorities were transporting both Sloan and Mitchell to the hospital when Sloan died from her injuries.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating the collision.
