(Jemison, Alabama November 30, 2021) — The Jemison Police Department reported a collision on Monday between a vehicle and a train at the Guy Street railroad crossing in Chilton County, Alabama. The collision tragically killed a woman and injured four others.
The driver of the vehicle, Lori Ann Parker, 40, of Jemison, was pronounced dead at the scene.
An unnamed 24-year-old woman was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham via Life Saver helicopter where she had surgery for internal injuries.
An unnamed 11-year-old girl was also transported by helicopter to Children’s of Alabama where she was treated for multiple internal injuries and is in critical, but stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit.
An unnamed 16-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl were taken to Children’s by ambulance. The girl reportedly went into surgery Tuesday for internal injuries, and the boy was treated for lacerations and a foot fracture.
The Jemison Police Department continues to investigate the crash.
