(Birmingham, Alabama August 2, 2022) — On early Tuesday morning, Ronald Orton, 45, of Birmingham was tragically killed when he was struck by a minivan on I-459 near the Highway 11 exit. He was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 4:33 a.m.
The crash happened on Interstate 459 North between Derby Parkway and Highway 11 in Trussville. The northbound lanes on I-459 were shut down for roughly six hours.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating the crash.
