(Birmingham, Alabama – November 1, 2024) — A 13 year-old boy from Ensley, AL was tragically killed after he was hit by a vehicle fleeing the scene of a shooting.
According to the Birmingham Police Department, shots were fired around 6:45 PM in the 2400 block of Avenue D. A man fleeing the shooting in his vehicle hit Braylen “Bray Bray” Hardy, who was riding his ATV on a grassy area and sidewalk near is father’s house.
After the man struck Braylen, he fled the scene on foot. The Birmingham PD located and detained tthe driver.
Braylen suffered critical injuries and was taken to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham. Tragically, Braylen died three days later.
The Birmingham PD continues to investigate the incident. No arrests have been made at this time.
