(Dekalb County, AL, March 5, 2021) — A Georgia man died after a single-vehicle crash on Alabama 117 that also injured the driver and another passenger.

The deceased individual, Mark L. Wilson, was a passenger in the 2020 Ford Ranger that flipped over on the highway near Mentone in Dekalb County.

The authorities determined that the truck veered off the road and hit a culvert before overturning around 8:40 PM. 

The vehicle’s driver and one other passenger required medical treatment, and authorities transported them to a nearby hospital. Wilson died at the scene of the crash.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating the crash, which occurred about two miles south of East River Road.

Authorities have not released any information regarding the cause of the collision or updates on the injured individuals’ conditions at this time.
