Alabama Accident News(Lowndes County, Alabama March 14, 2022) — On Sunday afternoon (March 13th) a multi-vehicle crash on I-65 in Lowndes County claimed the life of an 11-year-old girl from Nashville. The girl had been traveling back home from Orange Beach with her mother and sister-in-law.
According to the Alabama State Troopers, the wreck happened around 3:44 p.m. just past the 151 exit to Letohatchee, AL.
The crash occurred when a tractor-trailer driven by a 65-year-old man from Milton, Florida, hit three other cars including the vehicle in which the girl was riding. The crash knocked the car off of the roadway. Seven people were injured and the girl died at the scene.
I-65 was closed for several hours after the crash, which remains under investigation by the Troopers.
She was a 6th grader at Nashville Classical Charter School where she was involved in basketball, a journalism program and a step team.
