( Northport, Alabama November 2, 2021) – On Tuesday afternoon November 2, 2021 in Northport, Kylee Whitson, a 17 year old student, tragically died in a car accident on Rose Boulevard south of the Highway 171 overpass. The crash occurred when Whitson’s 2007 Ford Escape left the road and hit a tree. Whitson was pronounced dead at the scene and two other students were taken to DCH hospital. All three students attended Tuscaloosa County High School and lived in Northport.
The Northport Police Department is investigating the crash.
The Tuscaloosa County School System released this statement: Additional counselors and social workers are on the campus of TCHS today, to provide grief counseling and support to students, faculty, and staff. Additional staff will remain on the campus as needed, to continue providing support to the TCHS community.
A family member has set up a GoFundMe account in Whitson’s name.
