(Birmingham, AL, September 24, 2021) – A FedEx truck crashed into another vehicle on I-59 on Thursday afternoon and fled the scene.
The police responded to reports of the crash at the Roebuck Parkway exit in Birmingham. Police found Euriticulus De Shawn Williams unconscious on the side of the road. It was later confirmed that Williams was cleaning up litter from the side of the interstate when the FedEx truck struck him. Williams was 33 years old and died due to injuries he sustained in the crash.
Witnesses told police that a white FedEx truck struck Williams. Shortly after arriving at the crash scene, police received reports that the FedEx truck was still in the area.
The authorities executed a traffic stop once they identified the truck, and they took the female driver into custody. She did not sustain injuries in the hit-and-run.
