(Madison, AL, August 19, 2021) — A vehicle struck and killed a 16-year-old pedestrian in a hit and run Madison accident.
The teenager, Mason Cozelos, was crossing East Limestone Road when the vehicle hit him.
Authorities declared Cozelos dead when they arrived at the crash scene around 10:30 PM.
The driver fled the scene of the crash, and the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency has not identified the offender.
The ALEA continues to investigate this accident in Madison as a hit and run case.
Cozelos attended James Clemens High School, a local Madison school. He played lacrosse.
Authorities ask any individual with information about this hit and run Madison accident to call the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office at (256) 232-0111.
Madison residents also set up a GoFundMe fundraiser to help identify the person at fault in this accident. The money raised will be put toward a reward for providing information about the driver that fled the crash scene.
