(Baldwin County, AL, Feb. 7, 2021) — Two people died in a head-on crash on I-10 early Sunday morning.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency confirmed that 21-year-old Amberly Noel Montgomery and 24-year-old Paiton Brianna Goodwin died in the two-vehicle collision. Both Montgomery and Goodwin were from Mobile.
The crash occurred around 4:00 AM on Sunday near mile marker 60 on I-10. Authorities reported that Montgomery was driving east on the westbound highway and struck Goodwin, who was traveling west to Mobile.
Authorities have not determined how Montgomery ended up on the wrong side of the road.
Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Police have not reported any other injuries due to the collision.
The ALEA closed westbound I-10 for most of Sunday morning to investigate the collision.
The collision remains under investigation, and authorities have not released any further details.
